A Playful Engagement Shoot Across Land and Sea

Some love stories feel effortless — and photographing Gabby and Mark was exactly that. Their engagement shoot was one of the first couple sessions that inspired my Adventure Sessions: natural, laid-back experiences where couples can simply be themselves, explore beautiful locations, and create genuine memories.

We spent an afternoon and morning together, chasing light and laughter around the island. Our first stop was Black Rock, one of Rarotonga’s most iconic spots. With sweeping views of the ocean and lagoon, it made the perfect backdrop for Gabby and Mark’s playful, sentimental moments. You could feel the connection between them — easy, joyful, and full of life.

The next morning, we continued their session at the beach, capturing the soft, golden light of a new day. There’s something special about early mornings on the island — the stillness, the pastel skies, the sense of new beginnings — and Gabby and Mark’s energy fit right into that magic.

We wrapped up their shoot beneath a vibrant flamboyant tree, its red-orange blooms in full display. The tree, often seen as a symbol of celebration and new seasons, felt like the perfect metaphor for this chapter in their love story.
