Tilly & Matt — Dancing Through the Storm | A Rainy Rarotonga Elopement

Some couples dream of sunshine on their wedding day. Tilly and Matt? They embraced the storm.

Their elopement in Rarotonga didn’t go exactly to plan — at least, not weather-wise. It absolutely poured, but instead of letting the rain dampen their spirits, they leaned into the moment with so much laughter, love, and pure joy. Their day became one of those unforgettable celebrations, full of heart and completely true to who they are.

Tilly and Matt booked my Turangi Elopement Package, which includes 75+ edited photos, two hours of photography, two beautiful locations (ceremony + scenic offsite), and an in-person consultation to plan their dream day. Even with the rain, we made it work — and it turned out better than any of us could have imagined.

After their intimate ceremony, we had a small window of calm weather, so we headed to Avana Point for their offsite portraits. But nature had other plans. The sky opened up again, and instead of running for cover, Tilly and Matt danced in the rain — laughing, holding each other close, and fully soaking in every second (literally and figuratively).

No hesitation. No stress. Just pure joy.

As a Rarotonga elopement photographer, these are the moments I love capturing most — the honest, raw ones that show what marriage is really about: embracing whatever life throws your way, together.

Tilly and Matt’s rainy day adventure is proof that the magic of your wedding day doesn’t come from perfect conditions. It comes from the way you love each other — boldly, joyfully, without hesitation.

If you’re dreaming of an intimate elopement in Rarotonga — whether it’s under blue skies or dancing through a tropical rainstorm — I’d love to help you tell your story. Reach out anytime for a relaxed, no-pressure chat about creating a day that feels true to you.
